Description
As a way to visually represent the divine, Between the 12th and 16th centuries, Gothic architecture evolved and and brought to perfection it’s characteristic decoration by means of arcs and circles. Tracery such as the Trefoil is a perfect example of this. It was typically applied to the windows and panels throughout the cathedrals of medieval Europe giving them the unique ethereal look that we have come to associate with Gothic.
