Description
From the Greek “pyros” meaning “fire”. When this stone is struck against a metal, stone or a hard surface, it will emit sparks. Used as a “firestone” in the middle ages, it was attributed magical properties in legend and mythology. Alchemists believed it could be turned to gold. It’s sparkle and brilliance evoke real gold and this is why naive gold prospectors sometimes confuse it for gold. Pyrite is a very dense stone so this bracelet is pleasantly weighty and cool to the touch. It is secured with an adjustable sterling silver macrame clasp.
